The Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) needs a Web Designer I to design and maintain visually appealing, user-friendly websites that align with branding and strategic objectives, effectively communicating the purpose of web assets to researchers, developers, and sponsors.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of 508 compliance and accessibility standards
- Expertise with tools like Figma, Moqup, etc.
- Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype user interfaces for web applications, tools, dashboards using tools like Figma, Moqups, etc.
- Develop design templates and style guides to maintain uniformity in web assets.
- Ensure all web designs adhere to accessibility standards (Section 508 compliance) through proper design and accessibility audits, and collaborate with developers to implement necessary adjustments.
- Ensures websites, tools, and visualizations meet the sponsor’s guidelines and standards.
- Collaborates with staff for website content and determines needs and assesses priorities.
- Regularly review and update websites to ensure content is current and relevant, addressing any issues that may arise.
- Assists in creating user guides, promotional materials, presentations, and other documents related to the sites, tools, dashboards, and visualizations.
