ERT is seeking a qualified full-stack web developer to support the development of a geoportal system as part of the new NOAA Climate Prediction Center Drupal 10 website. The role requires a strong understanding of Drupal’s architecture, APIs, and core functionality, with proficiency in custom theme and module development, essential contributed modules, and site building. A key responsibility of this position will be collaborating on the refactoring, modernization and migration of outdated code from legacy systems and applications into a content management system.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience building moderately complex websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of content management systems, specifically Drupal 9, 10, or 11
- Proficiency in the maintenance and administration of Drupal content, themes, and modules
- Experience with version control systems such as Git within a development to staging environment workflow
- Ability to produce modern responsive designs and user-friendly interfaces, ensuring Section 508/WCAG compliance and accessibility
- Proven ability to research, develop or adapt designs and code to accommodate both new and existing stakeholder applications
- Experience implementing the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) highly desired, but not required

- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Web Development or other related field
- Work will be performed primarily on-site at NOAA's College Park, MD facility with some flexible work arrangements permitted.
