Apple is looking for firmware engineers to design, develop, and bringup innovative wireless silicon for their products, addressing challenges in low-level embedded firmware and wireless PHY-layer architecture.
Requirements
- low-level embedded firmware
- wireless PHY-layer firmware architecture and design
- calibration algorithms, noise/interference processing, realtime processing flows, interfacing with RF hardware, power management/optimization, microcode, and/or MAC layer knowledge
- pre-silicon validation using simulation, emulation, and FPGA prototyping
- post-silicon bringup, performance characterization, system integration and debug
- Hands-on experience and solid understanding of wireless systems and protocols such as LTE/NR/WiFi/Bluetooth
- Strong embedded SW fundamentals, including knowledge of design and development-flows, real-time constraints, concurrency, multi-processor systems, caching and virtual memory
Responsibilities
- Design and development of efficient solutions to deliver extraordinary performance with minimal power and memory footprints, all while under hard-realtime latency constraints
- Debugging real-time systems with limited visibility, working hands-on with development boards and lab equipment
- Collaboration with Radio, MAC, and Systems engineering teams to architect, define and implement innovative algorithms, calibrations, and protocols
- Support of pre and post-silicon validation, bringup, and performance characterization
- Develop SoC test and calibration capabilities for chip, module, and product factories
