Requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of wireless technologies
- Direct practical experience demonstrating domain expertise in one of the wireless connectivity technologies, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (classic BT/BLE), Thread/Matter
- Deep theoretical knowledge of wireless protocols
- Hands-on experience in consistently validating one of these wireless technologies
- Good tooling and automation expertise in wireless performance evaluation
- Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) or Bluetooth/BLE, 802.15.4/Thread/Matter
- Proficiency in network/RF tools such as iPerf, Wireshark, Ellisys, Network and Spectrum Analyzers, attenuators
Responsibilities
- Reviewing design and product requirements, translating them into test plans, automating the tests, building wireless radiated lab setups that simulate different system conditions
- Evaluating the performance of wireless technologies for specific products and demonstrating the user benefits of the technology
- Performing comprehensive measurements and analyses of multi-radio wireless coexistence scenarios
- Preparing test reports, dashboards to visualize data, performing risk assessment and failure analysis to aid data driven product decisions
- Writing high quality automation tools and scripts with minimal supervision or support
- Developing, designing, and running tests to validate wireless features on Apple products
- Leading automation of wireless performance testbeds
Other
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering field
- Master's in an Engineering field preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 3 years of proven experience evaluating wireless performance in WiFi or Bluetooth
- 3 years of proven programming experience in scripting languages
