The Workday Integrations Developer uses in-depth knowledge of Workday's technical and functional capabilities to design, develop, and implement solutions across all modules in the Workday platform (HCM, Finance, Student, PRISM, and Extend). Collaborates with functional users to improve business processes by identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness, and evaluates new Workday features and modules to determine potential use cases and return on investment. Functions as a technical expert on integration and application projects involving Workday, third-party systems, and enterprise data. Contributes to the discussions regarding the Workday technical roadmap for Brandeis, and provides technology guidance on Workday technical design and development to other members of the ITS Workday team.
Requirements
- Must have a proven track record developing and maintaining Workday custom reports, Studio Integrations, EIBs, Core Connectors, and Web Services (SOAP/REST).
- Significant understanding of Workday data sources, calculated fields, XSLT, and security.
- Prior Workday Extend experience and Workday certifications are highly desirable.
- Thorough understanding of software development life cycles, testing methodologies, and requirements gathering.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and product lifecycle management.
- Experience with Boomi middleware is a plus.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex integration issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain custom integrations and applications using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST), Extend, and other Workday tools to support business requirements.
- Provide estimates and initial assessment for proposed development tasks and projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and Student teams, to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop prototypes and review functionality and business logic with customers and business analysts.
- Conduct unit tests, system tests, and end-to-end testing on integrations and applications to ensure accuracy and reliability before deployment.
- Support Workday updates and releases, performing thorough testing and validation to ensure smooth adoption of new features.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including integration design, testing scripts, and troubleshooting procedures.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology, of which at least 2 years should be as a Workday Developer.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies to solve business challenges, and the ability to innovate and implement creative solutions to optimize Workday’s functionality.
- Experience working in cross-functional project teams and handling multiple integrations and applications simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of higher education core business processes.
